Emily & Michael / Asheville / Session

Well this was fun! A couple weeks ago (as followers of my main blog may remember), Emily and Michael, Liza the dog, and I spent a few hours wandering the NC Arboretum and the streets of Asheville while shooting some casual engagement photos. Off the top of my head I recall high fives, a short staring contest, mild leaping, piggy back rides, and lots of happy smiles. It was a great shoot and I truly appreciated Emily and Michael's ability to interpret the vague "directions" I shouted out while shooting. On top of that Liza the dog might be one of the most well behaved dogs to ever grace the streets of Asheville...and that's saying something considering what a huge dog town it is. Next up: Big Day, Claxton Farm, friends and family, toasts and happy tears, dancing and laughter. I can't wait!

Melissa & Casey / Grove Park Inn Wedding / Asheville

Considering Melissa and Casey's wedding at The Grove Park Inn has already been featured on the Weddings With Tara blog and The Washington Post's Lifestyle section (yes, THE Washington Post, still can't believe it!) I figured it was way past time that I blogged a few photos. Well, as you can see I blogged a lot of them so maybe I should keep the text short and sweet...especially since I'm going to have some really fun news to post about related to Melissa and Casey and Jeremy Russell Photography very soon!

Anyway, do you get the idea these folks know how to have a good time? I loved every second I spent with these two and rarely a moment went by when someone wasn't laughing or smiling or dancing or goofing off. So much fun. I'm so thankful I could be a part of it all.

Ola & Nate / Grove Park Inn Wedding / Asheville

Since Ola and Nate had been blogged by a few times before I tried to find a few images that would tell the story of their day a little differently. I'm sure there's still some overlap but anyway.

Let's get back to Ola and Nate. Two of the most thoroughly head over heels in love people I think I've ever had the opportunity to photograph. Even after a few months I remember how easily smiles came to their faces when they looked at each other.

I also don't think I'll forget the moment when a video started playing at the reception of the two of them coloring together in school when they must have been in about first grade. To think they each grew up, went seperate ways, traveled the world, and ended up right back together was truly amazing.

Thanks Ola and Nate for letting me document the start of the next chapter.

The Bloom Room / Asheville / Vendor

Yesterday was a good day. I had an email sitting in my inbox from Stacey, owner of The Bloom Room, requesting some images of her beautiful floral designs from Leah and Brock's wedding at Claxton Farm and the second I sent those over I rushed downtown to catch up with Leah herself who was in town for a couple days. Things like this always make me feel like I'm doing something right. Thanks to you both!

A Fine Line / Asheville / Vendor

Here's a few images I shot for Kate and Peter of their incredible invitation suite by Asheville stationary studio, A Fine Line. Props to The Darling Bee for the props.
