Melissa & Casey / Grove Park Inn Wedding / Asheville

Considering Melissa and Casey's wedding at The Grove Park Inn has already been featured on the Weddings With Tara blog and The Washington Post's Lifestyle section (yes, THE Washington Post, still can't believe it!) I figured it was way past time that I blogged a few photos. Well, as you can see I blogged a lot of them so maybe I should keep the text short and sweet...especially since I'm going to have some really fun news to post about related to Melissa and Casey and Jeremy Russell Photography very soon!

Anyway, do you get the idea these folks know how to have a good time? I loved every second I spent with these two and rarely a moment went by when someone wasn't laughing or smiling or dancing or goofing off. So much fun. I'm so thankful I could be a part of it all.

Ola & Nate / Grove Park Inn Wedding / Asheville

Since Ola and Nate had been blogged by a few times before I tried to find a few images that would tell the story of their day a little differently. I'm sure there's still some overlap but anyway.

Let's get back to Ola and Nate. Two of the most thoroughly head over heels in love people I think I've ever had the opportunity to photograph. Even after a few months I remember how easily smiles came to their faces when they looked at each other.

I also don't think I'll forget the moment when a video started playing at the reception of the two of them coloring together in school when they must have been in about first grade. To think they each grew up, went seperate ways, traveled the world, and ended up right back together was truly amazing.

Thanks Ola and Nate for letting me document the start of the next chapter.

Ola & Nate / Asheville Indie Weddings / Grove Park Inn

Huge thanks to Melissa at Flora for hunting me down and dragging some more images of Ola and Nate's beautiful wedding out of my selfish computer! Ola and Nate were beyond the best to work with and I swear her flowers were the size of watermelons. Considering plants last an average of two weeks at my house I find this to be some sort of botanical magic.

After a bananas spring shoot schedule I'm finally in catch up mode and will be blogging some of my favorites as well but in the meantime check out Ola and Nate at Asheville Indie Weddings.

Things I'm working on right this second

I just sent Dana at A Fine Line a few images of her beautiful stationary and this handwritten seating list on a huge mirror (provided by The Darling Bee) from Ola and Nate's wedding at The Grove Park Inn.

Allow myself to introduce.....myself.

Hello there. As you may have figured out, I'm a wedding photographer and this is my blog. Well, one of them.

If you clicked on the link above you might have wondered to yourself, "so....why do you need another blog again?" I was wondering that as well within just a few minutes of working on this new site but I guess it stems from the fact that my main website is a reflection of all my interests (family, music, art, etc.), not just photography, and certainly not just wedding photography. I wanted an outlet for my wedding photography and for my experiences as a wedding photographer. I have always been a photographer and after 15+ years of immersion in photography the styles of photography that appeal to me are quite scattered. Consider this a focusing (no pun intended) of my somewhat diverse design aesthetic. I plan for it to remain a photography blog much like my main blog but I am considering posting a little more text with each post.

Anyway, I'll figure it out but in the meantime I hope you enjoy checking out some of my work and if you have any thoughts or ideas please let me know in the comments or by email.
